5.Ohae Dam

      The Dam is located on the Missouri River, at the United States of America. The construction of the Dam began in 1948 and ended in 1962. The Dam's construction cost is $340 million. Its reservoir has a surface area is 3,74,000 acres. It produces an annual generation of power of about 2,621 GWh.

  • The height of the dam is 75 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 2,850 metres.
  • The width of the dam is 1,100 metres.


The volume capacity of this dam:   70.3×10^6 m^3.


4.Houtribdijk Dam

     Houtribdijk Dam is located between Lelystad and Enkhuizen cities at the Netherlands. The construction of the Dam began in 1963 and ended in 1975. The roadway on the top of the dam is called N302.  This dam is separating two cities, those two cities are Markermeer and Ijsselmeer. This dam is built as a part of Zuiderzee works.

  • The Dam's height is 13 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 30,000 meters.
  • The width of the dam is 68,000 meters.


The volume capacity of this dam:         78×10^6 m^3.


3.Atatürk Dam

       Atatürk Dam is located on the Euphrates river, at the Turkey country. The construction of the dam began in 1983 and ended in 1992. This dam is also called as the Karababa Dam, this region is mostly rocks filled. Its reservoir has a surface area of 817 km^2. It produces an annual generation of power of about 8,900 GWh.

  • The Dam's height is 166 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 1,819 meters.
  • The width of the dam is 23,000 metres.


The volume capacity of this dam:     84.5×10^6 m^3.


2.Fort Peck Dam

     Fort Peck Dam is located on the Missouri River, at the United States of America. The construction of the dam began in 1933 and ended in 1940. The Dam's construction costs are $100 million. Its reservoir has a surface area of 2,41,000 acres. It produces an annual generation of power of about 1,048 GWh.

  • The height of the dam is 76 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 6,409 metres.
  • The width of the dam is 1,100 metres.


The volume capacity of this dam:       96×10^6 m^3.


1.Tarbela Dam

       Tarbela Dam is located on the Indus river,  at the Pakistan country. The construction of the dam began in 1968 and ended in 1976. The construction of the Dam cost is $1.497 billion. It's a very large surface area of the reservoir of 250 km^2. It is maintained by Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority. 

  • The height of the dam is 143 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 2,743 metres.
  • The width of the dam is 80,500 metres.


The volume capacity of this dam:     153×10^6 m^3.

22.Hirakud Dam

        Hirakud Dam is located on the Mahanadi river, at India. The construction of the dam began in 1947 and ended in 1957. The Dam's construction cost is $1.1 billion as of the year 2019. Its reservoir has a catchment area of about 83,400 km^2. It has an installed capacity of 347.5 MW

  • The height of the dam is 61 metres.
  • The length of the dam is 25,800 metres.


The volume capacity of this dam:       19.2×10^6 m^3.
